On 15 May 2025, we proudly marked Menstrual Hygiene Day by returning to Ingqayivizele Secondary School in Tembisa to continue the vital work we began last year. Thanks to the generous support of New Generation, we successfully raised R25,000, enabling us to distribute 100 washable sanitary pad packs to the school’s new Grade 8 learners.
Each reusable pad pack provides up to four years of menstrual dignity, helping girls attend school confidently and consistently—without the setbacks often caused by lack of access to menstrual products. Alongside the distribution, we delivered a comprehensive menstrual health education session, empowering students with essential knowledge about their bodies and menstrual care.
The day was filled with joy, learning, and hope, reminding us that collective community action can create lasting change. By supporting menstrual health and education, we are not only breaking taboos but also building a stronger, more equitable future for girls across South Africa.
