DARE2B was founded with a bold vision:
to ignite the spirit of entrepreneurship and empower underserved communities to unlock their fullest potential. Our journey began with an unwavering passion for creating opportunities, fostering innovation, and building a future where everyone has the tools to succeed.

Our Mission and Values
Mission:"Our mission is to empower communities by providing individuals with dignified access to menstrual health solutions, while equipping them with entrepreneurial skills to build sustainable futures."
At Dare2B, our mission is woven into every stitch we make. We are guided by the belief that menstruation should never be a barrier to education, dignity, or opportunity. Our values—dignity, sustainability, and empowerment—shape every pad we produce and every skill we teach. These values reflect our identity as a women-led, purpose-driven organization committed to transforming shame into strength and need into opportunity.
Purpose
We exist to create bold, lasting change in communities where silence around menstruation has caused stigma, shame, and limited opportunity. Our purpose is rooted in restoring dignity and enabling people to access tools that can change their lives—starting with something as simple and powerful as a pad.
We believe innovation isn’t just about products; it’s about people. That’s why we’ve built a model that creates jobs at every level of production—from sewing to distribution—while also training women in skills that help them build income streams. Our creative approach is reshaping how social impact is delivered, with a vision of empowerment stitched into every layer.
Empowerment
Empowerment is the thread that connects everything we do. We don’t just distribute sanitary pads—we create access, opportunity, and income for men, women and youth across underserved communities. Through skill development centres, local training programs, and jobs in pad production, DARE2B puts people in charge of their own stories.
We believe true empowerment means more than charity; it means ownership with a purpose. When people are given tools and trusted with opportunity, they rise—and so do their families, their communities, and our collective future.

Our Impact

Discover the positive impact Dare 2b is making through our various initiatives.

Since 2014, Dare2B has distributed over 500,000 reusable sanitary pads — but our mission goes far beyond meeting a need. At the heart of our work is empowerment: creating access, building skills, and restoring dignity in communities often left behind.
Through our “Train the Trainer” model, we equip 100 individuals each year with sewing, business, and leadership skills. Each of them then trains 5 more, creating a ripple effect that has reached over 6,600 people with tools to generate income, build confidence, and create change from within.
In Orange Farm, Dudu, a single mother, turned her training into a source of income for her family. Today, she leads a small pad production group, employing other women and supplying local schools and clinics. For her, Dare2B wasn’t just a program — it was a turning point.
In the Eastern Cape, Zanelle, who once stayed home from school because she had no pads, now leads workshops that help young girls understand their cycles and their worth. Her story reminds us that change doesn’t always come from the top — it often starts with one voice speaking up.
Behind every pad is a person with pride in their work, a child who stays in school, a family that eats because a mother is earning. Dare2B is about more than hygiene — it’s about justice, opportunity, and the quiet power of putting skills into the hands of those who need them most.
