A beautiful 6 weeks journey of inspiration to watch beautiful children blossom with confidence while they learned sewing skills to manufacture washable pads.
This program was sponsored by the Save The Children SA and facilitated and monitored by D.A.R.E. – Developing, Ambitious,Resilient,Entrepreneurs.
Every weekly trip for me down to Musina and Siloam were long but exhilarating and when I arrived at the centres seeing the joy of hope and excitement in the eyes of the children who could not wait to share with me what they had achieved was so worth every 600km of travel.
An amazing overwhelming feeling when you see each child express their excitement to show you the work in progress completed and when I spend time with them I am humbled because despite having so little they are so hungry to learn new things which is absolutely rewarding.
This entire project has been extremely fulfilling and rewarding and we looking forward to upskilling the children with other opportunities of mentorship that will not only give them a pack washable pads but also opens new doors for them to earn an income of dignity for themselves.
The circle of engagement outside of the children also meant I met the most amazing people who have dedicate their life with limited resources to uplift, counsel and show these children love and compassion while they take care of the children’s needs and keep these shelters alive.
Lessons I come back with is there is so much to learn in life and so much to share too with those that have the same heart beat and passion for the upliftment of humanity.
I leave this beautiful safe space hopefully for not to long with huge smiles and hugs.
