Back to School 2024 – Bree Primary School Handout (19 February)

On 19 February 2024, the Dare Foundation, in partnership with the Johannesburg Institute of Social Services (JISS), kicked off the year with our first Back to School Menstrual Health Initiative at Bree Primary School.

During the visit, we distributed 117 washable sanitary pad packs to Grade 7 learners, ensuring they start the school year with confidence and dignity. Alongside the distribution, we provided practical demonstrations on how to use and care for the pads, as well as essential menstrual health and hygiene education.This first handout of 2024 was a moment of joy, connection, and purpose. Watching the girls engage, ask questions, and express gratitude reminded us why this work matters so deeply. It reignited our passion to continue empowering young girls across South Africa with sustainable menstrual solutions and education throughout the year ahead.
