Youth Day 2025: Empowering Young Girls Through Dignity and Dialogue

On 16 June 2025, in celebration of Youth Day, we had the incredible privilege of giving back to the community in a truly meaningful way. With the funds raised, we supported Thetha High School in Orange Farm by distributing 120 washable sanitary pad packs to learners.

This initiative was especially close to our hearts because it featured Dudu, one of our very own team members who lovingly handcrafts the pads in her studio. Seeing Dudu stand before the young girls, share her story, and inspire them with her journey was both powerful and deeply moving.

Adding to the day’s impact was the participation of the school principal, a compassionate male leader who not only showed full support but was genuinely enthusiastic about being part of the handout. His involvement sent a clear and vital message — that menstrual health is not just a women’s issue, but a shared community responsibility.

Each girl who received a pack gained up to four years of dignity, along with essential knowledge from our menstrual health education session. The event was filled with hope, pride, and the true spirit of Youth Day, celebrating empowerment, equality, and community-driven change.
